The Egg Chair is an iconic piece of furniture design history, created by Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen in 1958. Originally designed for the Royal Hotel Copenhagen (now the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel), this masterpiece embodies the perfect fusion of artistry and functionality.

The chair's distinctive egg-shaped silhouette was revolutionary for its time, featuring sweeping curves that cocoon the sitter. Jacobsen crafted the original prototype in his garage, experimenting with clay to achieve the perfect organic form. The final design utilized innovative materials and manufacturing techniques, with a shell made of fiberglass-reinforced polyurethane foam, upholstered in either fabric or leather, and mounted on a star-shaped aluminum swivel base.

The enduring popularity of the Egg Chair spans decades for several compelling reasons. Its ergonomic design provides exceptional comfort while creating a sense of privacy for the sitter. The sculptural form makes it not just a piece of furniture but a work of art that commands attention in any space. The chair's versatility allows it to complement both modern and traditional interiors, whether in homes, offices, or luxury hotels.
